In your recent issue the secretary of the state medical board is quoted as having told the legislative commission that "Chiropractic is Christian Science brought to earth." As this statement would misinform your reading audience, I would appreciate space in your columns for correction. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this now worldwide religion, taught, practiced, and demonstrated a purely spiritual system of healing disease, and in her writings instructs her followers, as did the Master, to "heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." These healings are accomplished without manipulation or any material remedy, whose slightest use would be a violation of true practice and immediately invite defeat or delay healing. Christian Science stands alone in the field of religion and healing. It constantly turns its adherents to God as the great and only Physician, and stresses the fact that "the prayer of faith shall save the sick."
