[Written for the Sentinel]

Light

Thy all-pervading presence here—
Father of light, I cannot fear.
Thou rollest earth's deep mist away,
And through the rifted clouds, the day
Of Truth is shining clear and bright,
Undimmed throughout the seeming night.

Illumined is the universe;
Removed is every mortal curse!
The glorious days of Truth but shine
To prove Thy presence, all divine;
And in Thy light, so perfect, pure,
Shall we see light and rest secure.
