By reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and putting into practice what we have learned there, we have been able to prove that Christian Science is indeed the truth that makes free.

About six years ago we took up Christian Science. After about six months of reading a little now and then, and doubting and believing, we saw enough light to give it a sincere test; and when we did, we surely were rewarded. I had suffered for eighteen years with catarrh of head, eyes, throat, stomach, and liver; in fact, almost every part of my body was affected. I suffered with diseased bones in the face until at one time I walked the floor day and night for two weeks. I suffered every day in the year, and took medicine and tried different things, electrical and chiropractic. I could not eat or drink without suffering from my stomach, and I coughed all the time.

I was healed of the tobacco habit of about twenty years' standing at the same time. Our first trial of Christian Science was for our daughter of four years, who had contracted influenza at a time when it was raging. We read Science and Health until about midnight and realized the truth as best we could; and our daughter was healed the next day. Our other baby did not have it. At this same time, when we decided to turn to God as taught us in Christian Science, I was healed of the ailments I have mentioned above. This was done by reading Science and Health, and without the aid of a practitioner.
