About the time I became interested in Christian Science my husband passed on, leaving me with three children to support. A great sense of loneliness and grief weighed upon me. I was attending the Christian Science services, and at them experienced a wonderful sense of peace and spiritual uplift. At first I had a loaned copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I kept reading in all my spare time. As soon as I could I bought the textbook for myself, I have had many proofs of divine Love's guidance and care and protection.

I am particularly grateful for the Christian Science Sunday School, which my children attend, and in which they are being taught the truth that makes free. An unsightly eruption appeared on the face of one of my little girls. She was examined by the school doctor, and the trouble was diagnosed as eczema. The following Sunday I went into the Sunday school with her and asked her teacher, who is a Christian Science practitioner, for treatment. This was immediately given. I was requested to take her the following Tuesday to this lady's house, but before then the disease had entirely disappeared. The school doctor, who had examined the child, had wanted my consent to have her medically treated, but both she and I chose rather to trust in God, the Great Physician. She was examined the second time by a woman physician, who, finding no trace of the trouble, was rather puzzled, so that after the lapse of a fortnight the child was again examined and found to be perfectly healed. The second and third examinations were in my own presence, and each time she was certified "perfectly healed." This experience touched my heart and awakened it to the recognition of the healing power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science.

A month later my younger daughter was suffering from great pain, with diarrhea for two or three days. I took her to the same practitioner. She was instantaneously healed, and enjoyed a hearty meal immediately afterward. This child had been subject to this condition, and before coming into Christian Science had to be dieted very carefully. There has been no return of the trouble since treatment in Christian Science was given.
