At one time I suffered from a flow of blood for about three weeks. I was harassed and torn with a fear that was torment; yet I worked earnestly and faithfully on, as we are taught to do in Christian Science, until at last I saw clearly that since God is permanent, his child is likewise permanent and cannot be depleted, and healing resulted. The revelation of the power of God which this healing brought to me cannot be expressed in words.
Another healing that also stands out as a beacon light was the complete healing and cleansing from consciousness of the belief and fear of weeping eczema. It was for the healing of this condition, which upon its first appearance covered my chest, that I turned to Christian Science in 1918, after having had the services of some of the best dermatologists known, and even submitting to X-ray treatment in an effort to effect a permanent cure. I was relieved for a few months, but was told the trouble was apt to return at any time. The indication of its return was soon noticed, and at this juncture I turned to Christian Science and was quickly healed. For five years I was entirely free from this difficulty, and then there was a return of it again. I held firmly to the truth that God's work is finished and complete, and that, therefore, the only desire I could have was a good desire, a desire to know God. With the realization of true desire, eliminating the seeming desire to scratch the flesh, came instantaneous healing. Once more the testimony of the physical senses had been reversed and harmony established.
An extremely painful and ulcerated tooth which caused my face to swell to a great degree was healed in twenty-four hours. The suggestion and temptation of mortal mind to have the tooth drawn by a dentist were met by holding to the truth of the completeness of God's creation, that nothing can be added to it and nothing can be taken or drawn from it. Sprained ankle, weak and sagging arches, for which I wore arch supports for three years, the tendency to colds and loss of voice, influenza and after effects of falling hair, together with numerous other inharmonious conditions, have been healed in Christian Science.
