In 1921 I began the study of Christian Science at the request of my husband, who had been studying it a few months previous to my taking any interest in it. My husband had been in miserable health for years, but began to improve almost immediately after taking treatments from a Christian Science practitioner. He was healed almost instantly of a very severe case of lumbago. Just through the reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I myself was healed of lifelong constipation, from which I had had much suffering; and with one treatment I was healed of tonsillitis, so that I told the practitioner I felt as if I had never been sick. In just a few months after beginning the reading and study of Mrs. Eddy's books, and also other authorized Christian Science literature, I was able through my own understanding of the relationship between God and man to observe some very beautiful healings in our own family. I can but withdraw my own personality when I see the healing, and know that it is God's law, the law of divine Love, that has accomplished the good that has been done.

Ever since a child I have loved to read the Bible. Early in life I united with an orthodox church, and was always eager to attend Sabbath school for the study and discussion of the lessons in class. How grateful I am to Mrs. Eddy that I can say, "Thank God," because I now understand in a measure the truths about God and His idea, man, which the Bible contains. I shall never be able to command the language to express my gratitude for Christ Jesus and Mrs. Eddy.
