I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science...

I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science, and for what it has done and is doing for us. We have had many proofs of God's love in our home. Our little daughter was healed of measles in a very short time, also of whooping cought, colds, and fevers; and I have been able to overcome to a certain extent many sins and faults of character, such as fear, anger, resentment, self-pity, and self-consciousness. I still have much to overcome, but I know that "all things work together for good to them that love God."

I should like to tell of a wonderful healing I have had. About the middle of January, 1924, my eyes became crossed, and I was almost blind. I could see well enough to walk about in the house without bumping into things, but could not see at all outside. I had had headaches in the back of my head for several months. My husband, who was not then interested in Christian Science, thought I had better go to see a doctor. After going to the doctor and having an examination and a blood test, I was told that I had a blood tumor on the brain which was pressing against the nerves of the eyes, causing them to be crossed, and that unless I had medical attention immediately I could not live over five months and would probably go insane before death. I became so frightened that I consented to the treatments; but after I got home I realized that I could not work from two standpoints—that I must choose one or the other. So I wired to a practitioner, telling her what I had done and what the doctor had said, and asking her for help. After taking two of the doctor's treatments I threw away the medicines he had given me and turned completely to Christian Science, and I am very grateful to say that I received help at once. In just a few days my eyes began to straighten; and now they are as straight as ever, and I can see as well, if not better, than before. I have never had a headache since the first treatment. I should like to say that I had absent treatments only, and that the healing was accomplished in a month's time.

I am grateful indeed for this physical healing, but words cannot express my gratitude for the spiritual uplift I have experienced. I have learned to love and appreciate Christian Science as never before; and it is a joy now instead of a duty to study daily our lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly. I am grateful to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave to us this wonderful truth. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.
