Fruitage

It was divine necessity that led Mrs. Eddy to place at the end of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" a chapter of testimonies of healing brought about through study of the inspired pages of this textbook itself. In these pages she sets forth Christian Science, both its theory and the method of its practice; and of necessity, the signs which follow—the fruitage—must be made known.

Having been divinely healed herself, Mrs. Eddy turned to the discovery of the law of her healing. This accomplished, and her discovery recorded, she well knew that only through positive proof of the actuality of her experience could she even hope to arrest the attention of a world sunk deep in material beliefs. In view of this, she took up the practice of Christian Science, step by step proving the practicability of spiritual healing, not only as a successful therapeutic method, but as the only scientific means whereby both the sick and the sinning are healed through spiritual regeneration.

The results of her experiences are set forth in her writings. She healed the most virulent types of disease, the so-called incurable—organic and functional alike. Then she set out to organize and establish a movement which would enable all mankind to profit from her glorified discovery. As evidence multiplied on every hand, and testimonies of healings through reading her textbook by scores and hundreds came to her, she placed in its final chapter a record of healings, unprecedented and unparalleled in human experience, at least since the early centuries of the Christian era.
