The Lectures

Woburn, Massachusetts (First Church).

Lecturer: John J. Flinn; introduced by Irving C. Tomlinson, who said:—

It is indeed a happy omen of a reunited Christianity when a church founded on the great truth that there is but one God opens its doors to the church whose beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has said in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 340), "The First Commandment is my favorite text." Surely the basis of Christian unity is the truth that there is but one God, that man is His child, and that we are awakening to the fact that the heavenly Father is truly "a very present help" in time of need. And we have the privilege of understanding God's laws and making His goodness available.
