I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the many blessings its study and application have brought into my life. By an earnest and honest desire to have more of peace and love in my life, I was led to the Christian Science church. After studying a few months I was suddenly taken ill in a hotel in a city in which I knew no one. Many were passing on around me with the same malady—influenza—under medical treatment, and I felt as if my only chance of recovery lay in turning unreservedly to Christian Science. Upon telephoning to the Reading Room I was informed that a practitioner was living in the same hotel with me. When she came into my room and found that I was given no service by the assistants because of fear, she had a cot placed in her own suite and very lovingly cared for me. In retrospect the experience is wonderful. I knew too little of Christian Science to know how to work, and my only knowledge was a firm conviction that "with God all things are possible." Of this experience, the outstanding event is what occurred one night which might otherwise have been my last. I had lain with no apparent improvement; but on the night of which I speak we seemed to walk in the illuminating presence of God. The shackles of sense-limitation were removed, and I was healed.

From the mountain top of this wonderful experience I viewed life with different eyes; and while I have found it necessary to prove every step, and many times the clouds have seemed to gather, the glory and permanence of God's ever present love is always with me. For this experience I am increasingly grateful. It is three years since this healing took place, and during that time Christian Science has been my only guide. The constant effort to assimilate more of the Christ, Truth, has manifested itself in a happier and more harmonious home life, better health, an improved business, and greater peace and comfort.

I am unreservedly grateful to Mrs. Eddy, whose pure thought recognized and reflected the light and love of God's eternal presence. I am grateful for the practitioners who have so lovingly helped to keep my lamp of spiritual understanding burning. For the first time in my life I am grateful for the Bible and for Jesus' exemplary life. Daily I would endeavor more thoroughly to put into practice the words of one of the beautiful hymns written by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy (Poems, p. 4):
