In March, 1923, I arrived in Toronto from a sanitarium...

In March, 1923, I arrived in Toronto from a sanitarium in the United States, where I had gone to receive treatment, naturally expecting to be in better health as a result of that treatment. Four days after reaching Toronto I was stricken with a severe attack of sciatica. As I had given up drugs on first going to the sanitarium three years before, I tried osteopathy; but, finding when on my third week of treatment that I was no better, I decided to discontinue it. I lay on my bed hopelessly wondering if I were going to be compelled to take up drugs again. While in this mental state it was proposed to me, by one who knew as little about it as I did, that I should try Christian Science; which I did. I received not more than six absent treatments from a practitioner and had "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy sent to me, which I eagerly read. I was soon like a person transformed. The pain had not completely gone when I started to walk, but very nearly so; my general health was marvelously improved; and the mental uplift was wonderful. A few days later I was able to go to see the practitioner, who was a complete stranger to me; and I found her kind, loving, and helpful.

I then asked for assistance for a very severe bowel trouble of over thirty years' standing. I returned home in about three weeks from my first treatment in Christian Science completely cured of sciatica and very much helped with the bowel disorder; and a severe nose trouble had completely disappeared. Since then the bowel trouble has been entirely healed; but greatest of all is the wonderful uplift that this knowledge of God and His never failing goodness gave me. I reached my home radiant with health and happiness. Since that time I have had numerous proofs of the wonderful power of Truth over error. I am thankful to God for having led me to the knowledge of Christian Science, very grateful to the kind practitioners for their help so readily given, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who, as the result of her consecrated life, was able to give to the world this wonderful revelation of the teachings of Christ Jesus.—(Mrs.) S. Minnie Neale, Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada.
