It is impossible to say just which healing or experience...
It is impossible to say just which healing or experience in Christian Science I am most grateful for. I have had many, and each one has brought its lesson, never leaving me as it found me; so I can say I am sincerely grateful for this Science.
My first experience was the healing of our second boy. At four months of age he was taken with convulsions, which left us with little hope of his surviving; and if he should, the doctor gave no encouragement that he would be a normal child. His father was finally persuaded to try Christian Science, and I know now that the baby was completely healed after the first treatment, though the practitioner continued the work for about two weeks. At this time the food had been changed and he had gained in weight. As the little fellow grew, a deformed foot became normal; and intelligence and understanding have come, so that he is in his proper school grade and promotion comes without a drawback.
In 1918 this same child was thrown from the running board of a car, the front wheel grazing the head, tearing the flesh and bruising the body. On hearing a commotion in the front yard, I immediately declared the truth contained in "the scientific statement of being," as found on page 468 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I am happy to say the child did not lose consciousness, and at the end of two weeks was healed. I might state that the practitioner called at this time resided in the state of California, while the incident occurred in New Mexico.
