I wish to express my thanks for a beautiful and quick healing. In September, 1917, I contracted tonsillitis, supposedly through contagion. It developed so quickly and so severely that for a few days I could neither drink nor sleep. The third day I asked a lady to telephone to Hamburg to a Christian Science practitioner. The message was telephoned about noon. I slept from twelve until four o'clock, and when I awoke I drank a whole glass of lemonade. Only after this was it clear to me what had taken place in the meantime. I was completely healed—no more swelling or pain.

I wish to mention that two months before this I had had the same disease and had had to lie in bed for ten days. As a result of the tonsillitis I had been taken with severe pains in the kidneys, and according to medical opinion could be wholly relieved only by an operation. After the above-mentioned healing through Christian Science all kidney trouble disappeared, too. More than eight years have passed since the healing, and there have been no further signs of the old trouble.

I owe endless thanks to God, and should like to call out to all who do not yet understand Christian Science as they would like, and still often despair, just to press on. After I had battled and struggled for two years, I gained a clear knowledge of Christian Science. I thank our dear God with all my heart that He led me to this true religion. I also sincerely thank Mrs. Eddy for having shown us the way to this wonderful truth; and I thank all who have aided me in learning more quickly to grasp and comprehend its wonderful teaching.—(Miss) Käthe Paffenholz, Kiel, Germany.
