About fifteen years ago a dear sister talked to me about...
About fifteen years ago a dear sister talked to me about Christian Science. At this time I was suffering from an attack of neuralgia of the head and eyes to which I had been subject all my life, along with stomach trouble from which I was never free, day or night. After my sister left for her home, I made this remark to my two little children: "I do not know which I want more, the book Science and Health, or a dresser set." Then it passed out of my thought—but not so with my two little ones. They saved up their money; and on Christmas morning that book lay beside my breakfast plate. I was disappointed because they had paid so much for a book. It was a year or more before I noticed it at all; then as I passed by the table whereon it lay, it seemed to stand out as the only book there. I thought how strange this was, and passed it by a second time; but the third time I took it up. I then realized I was longing for the truth, that my children might be reared in the right way. I commenced to read, and in less than a week my arm, which had been stiff with rheumatism, was healed. Then I awoke to the fact that the stomach trouble had ceased; later the neuralgia was overcome with the help of a practitioner.
In all these years Christian Science has sustained us and been our only help. It gives me great joy to be a member of The Mother Church and to have had the blessed privilege of class instruction.
