Streatham News,

The utterances on spiritual healing by a clergyman, appearing in your recent issue, are interesting, but his remarks on Christian Science need correction. He says: "To Christian Science, evil is nonexistent; it is simply a matter of wrong thinking. There being no evil, there is no need of redemption." This statement is illogical. All carnal-mind thinking is wrong thinking, for "the carnal mind is enmity against God;" and as long as there is wrong thinking there is the necessity of redemption. Our Master said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The knowledge of this spiritual truth, to which he referred, destroys wrong thinking, and therefore wrong acting. Christian Science teaches that there is no spiritual healing apart from the Mind of Christ; and it is in proportion as one gains this Mind that one understands the truth that makes free from sin and disease.
