I have had many benefits and healings through the study and application of Christian Science. For many years I suffered from attacks of asthma and also seemed to be subject to constant colds, headaches, and whatever disease was popular in the community.

Soon after hearing of Christian Science I ordered a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. When it came it proved quite a disappointment to me, for I did not seem able to comprehend it at all. Shortly after this I learned that a few people were meeting on Sunday afternoons to read the Christian Science Lesson-Sermons. I was invited to the home of these people the following Sunday, and went gladly. It was quite a long time before any benefit seemed to come to me through the study of the textbook. I had been reading Christian Science literature for about two years before I finally consented to give up all medicine. One drug in particular seemed impossible to part with, for it seemed to be the only support upon which I could rely. However, the practitioner whom I had asked for treatment said that she could not go on with the case unless I tried to get along without the drug. This I consented to do for one night. At the end of two weeks I threw the last drug out of the house, and have had no desire to return to medicine since that time, which was in 1914.

I have had many physical healings. Colds, severe headaches, a sprained ankle, all have been overcome through the study of Christian Science. Fear of having dental work done has been lessened. The Bible, all of Mrs. Eddy's works, and the authorized Christian Science literature prove such a constant source of strength and joy that I can indeed say I am most grateful and glad for the knowledge I have of Christian Science as revealed by her.
