Divine Love is Our Refuge
All Christian Scientists understand to some extent the truth of spiritual, real being. Some of us have come very close to God; and we have thus learned to know some of the qualities of the One "altogether lovely." It is the glorious privilege of every student of Christian Science to realize and demonstrate man's unity with the Father, Truth, Life, and Love; no so-called law of material belief can interfere with or dissolve this unity. The love that enables us to see man as the image and likeness of God, eternally held in the everlasting arms of the Father, does surely protect and heal.
Christian Science is a practical religion, logical and scientific. It is based solely on Truth. In the home, on the road,—anywhere,—Christian Science when properly applied brings into the lives of its adherents peace, happiness, prosperity; for divine Love is their guide.
Mrs. Eddy was imbued with great moral courage to challenge the world with the truth that God is not corporeal, but is divine Principle, Life, Truth, Love, Mind. Man created by God is therefore spiritual, always expressing health, happiness, and purity; he is joyous, peaceful, and loving, manifesting the infinite attributes of Deity. Every idea of God reflects Love; and all are bountifully supplied. Divine Love opens the way, when one is willing and obedient. If in any seeming trouble, we can be assured that whatever the appearance at the time to material sense, the difficulty has nothing real to sustain it, and the forces of divine Love are operating to deliver us. Whatever our occupation or duty, the manifestations of divine Love beget harmony and smooth our way.
