[Written for the Sentinel]

Divine Love

Love divine!
Long years I searched the meaning of these words.
To me they meant a kindness far away,
To whom I could appeal in greatest need,
Not always sure of comfort day by day.

But now these words unfold in beauteous light;
Oneness with good heals every human woe;
And as we gain our unity with God
Atonement meets and vanquishes each foe.

It matters not what form the mist assumes,
Whether it be of sickness, sin, or fear;
The sunshine of the truth can pierce each cloud,
For Love reveals the son of God is here.
