[Original testimony in German]
I have been acquainted with Christian Science for nearly...
I have been acquainted with Christian Science for nearly twenty-five years. When I found it I was a young girl suffering mentally and physically, without any pleasure in life. Besides this, I lived in depressing and sad circumstances. My early years, spent without parents or love, had made me bitter. Besides this, I had lost all faith in God in my sorrowful childhood.
At first Christian Science seemed to me to be a light too radiant and beautiful. But gradually the compelling, irrefutable truth of Christian Science took hold of me completely, and with an increasing understanding, healing and comfort came into my life. Christian Science has revealed to me the substance of my existence, and the study of it is an inexhaustible source of spiritual uplifting. The text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which at first seemed to be a book difficult to read and full of reiterations, stands before me from year to year in clearer beauty and expressiveness; and often, when I find thoughts of Truth indorsed in the sayings of other thinkers and seekers, I am obliged to think how much more purely, how much more convincingly, how much more exhaustively, Mrs. Eddy was able to express all this knowledge.
I have found everything that a yearning heart could hope for in Christian Science: healing of severe head and intestinal complaints, a joyous disposition, interest in all that is taking place, and a center of activity which radiates blessing and happiness. Not a day passes in which I am not gratefully conscious of the fact that I live in an age in which the full understanding of the Christ, Truth, has been revealed through the activity and life of a pure woman, our beloved Leader.
