For the genuine recognition of God as the only power, and for the practicality of this great fact which Christian Science inculcates, I am profoundly grateful. I have demonstrated both the preventive and the curative efficacy of Truth, as revealed in Christian Science. Five years ago a loving friend and loyal student of Christian Science, knowing my extremity, gave me a copy of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I immediately and honestly began the study of this wonderful volume in connection with the Bible. My first healing was from the drug habit. For over fifteen years I had been constantly submitting to the directions of physicians, who prescribed rigid diet, complete idleness, and many medicines. Of the last I had taken such quantities that I spoke of myself as a walking drug store. This healing was instantaneous. The moment I began to read Science and Health it came to me that I must put aside medicine in order to discover if Christian Science heals. I was becoming honest. I have been healed of chronic sins, of fear, intense grief, the belief of lack, also of acute and chronic diseases. Four physicians had said that I must be operated upon for appendicitis, gallstones, and intestinal adhesions. These ailments have been completely healed by Christian Science, proving to-day the presence of the Christ.

I wish to tell also of the preventive power of Christian Science when applied persistently. When a very young student, I was called to care for a relative who was considered very ill with influenza. I ministered to her, and shared the same bed with the patient, for several weeks. I was protected from contagion through absolute trust in the power of divine Love.

My gratitude to God is unbounded for revealing Himself to mankind through Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I am sincerely thankful to the untiring practitioners, whose loving help has greatly benefited me. As we put into practice the teachings of the Bible and of Science and Health, we indeed find that thereby peace and all good come unto us.
