As a spring pours forth its wholesome waters spontaneously,...

As a spring pours forth its wholesome waters spontaneously, yet irresistibly, so gratitude wells up from grateful hearts, touched by the healing, life-giving efficacy of Christian Science.

Fear and worry seemed to be my solemn duty and the sure index to religious devotion, prior to my finding Christian Science. Since then these delusions have been replaced, in large part, by confidence and trust in God through the understanding of Him as ever present, infinite good, always available and efficacious in time of stress or need. Hate yields (often reluctanlty) to love—love for God and man. Desire for ease in the flesh vanishes before a keen desire and willingness to search for a fuller understanding of the deep things of God, good.

Some years ago it was my misfortune to injure my wrist in a fall, the result of which was an enlarged and weakened condition. It seemed that any other than a straight lift would invariably result in more or less suffering. About ten years ago rheumatism attacked this wrist. There was little sleep for several weeks. Then the problem was mentioned to an acquaintance in whose understanding of Christian Science I had gained confidence. It was urged that help be had, and it was lovingly given on condition that I study faithfully our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The rheumatism, the pain, and the enlargement all vanished. There has never been any recurrence of this trouble, the writst being just as strong as the other. This, to me, is proof of the permanent healing power of Christian Science; and I am most grateful to God.
