For many years my family and I have enjoyed countless blessings. Divine Principle has led me from a point of great mental depression, with all its seeming consequences, up to the light, to the recognition of God's all-power and to the understanding of man as His perfect likeness.

The error which crept in as the result of this depression seemed almost to overwhelm me, and made me believe that there was relief in so-called narcotics. Existence itself was a burden to me; and twice I tried to put an end to it all. For many months I took morphine in strongly concentrated form, so that my body was at times scarlet, and I felt a painful itching and burning sensation.

A Christian Science practitioner worked for me with indefatigable patience, love, and faithfulness, and led me step by step out of darkness into the light. My physical healing is complete, and the desire for the drug is destroyed. The organs which were partially paralyzed again function normally; the body, which seemed supersensitive, and the eyes, which could not stand the light, express harmony. The members which had lost their strength again obey thought, which determines their activity.
