Obedience

When the disciples of Jesus accepted as possible of achievement his admonition to go into the whole world and proclaim and demonstrate the supremacy of Spirit, and acted upon it, they experienced that happy state of consciousness brought about by their having been instrumental in aiding the establishment of Christianity.

The Biblical record of the setting forth of the disciples and their triumphs over evil is a story full of love; and the harmony which was brought about through their work was the result of their acceptance of the truth that limitless power governs the supply of all good. Going forward into the world to demonstrate the power of Spirit, they were confident of accomplishing great and wonderful works. No doubt the example of Jesus and of many of the ancient prophets in the triumph of good over evil gave them added assurance in their ability to resist the temptation of limiting the power of God, good.

In obeying the full injunctions of Jesus, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature,” “Heal the sick,” “Love thy neighbour as thyself,” the disciples found that not only were those they ministered to lifted above much materiality, limitation, and unhappiness, but they themselves were set free also; and through this demonstration of divine power they gained a great sense of righteous dominion. This was the result of obeying the commands of Jesus in their entirety.
