The Lectures

Chicago, Illinois (Society of the University of Chicago).—When introducing Dr. John M. Tutt,a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience, Wilbert Thomas Findley said in part:—

On the cover of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read the following inscription, taken from the Revised Version of the Bible: "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons." This is our watchword, and Mrs. Eddy has plainly pointed it out to us; but the fulfillment of this watchword necessitates unceasing work, unceasing vigilance. Christian Science is practical; it is provable; it heals and saves; for it has divine Principle as its inspiration, and divine Love and divine Mind to guide its practice. Christian Science demonstrates that the only real progress in attaining spiritual blessedness is made through absolute dependence on God. Through the application of the truth revealed by Christian Science, we are able to work out all problems, physical and mental; and are thereby filled with joy, peace, and harmony.
