Cooperation
Cooperation is right activity on the part of two or more individuals working harmoniously in the same enterprise. In its truest sense, this is acting in conformity with divine Mind, God; and it is scientifically right, and in accordance with spiritual law, that those who so act shall receive the benefits of true cooperation.
How may I realize this right activity, this true cooperation with those around me, and practice it every day, hour by hour, moment by moment, in my business? asks the seeker for light. One who has studied Christian Science and endeavored to put it into practice in business life is in a position to give a satisfactory and helpful reply. He may advise the inquirer to "study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit" of Christian Science, as Mrs. Eddy tells us to do in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 495). Fill your thought with good, and you will then be able to reflect Truth through your life in the office, in the workshop, or wherever you may be, may be the loving counsel. Then, if he who is seeking the truth is wise, he will go to the Bible and to Science and Health and Mrs. Eddy's other writings. Upon reading these books, he will find his thought changing, continually changing, so that old things pass away and all things become new. He will realize that a marvelous transformation is taking place within him: his thought is more harmonious; he moves about with greater ease and buoyancy; his actions are more sure; and he does his work with a lighter heart and in a healthier manner.
This manifestation of good has one sure result. The student of Christian Science learns to adapt himself to conditions as they arise, and to solve his problems through the application of the rule of good, which is the law of divine Principle, God. In this way problems, often vexing, are solved harmoniously, without the jars and turbulences resulting from the use of human will. Thus the student of this Science not only expresses true cooperation with those around him, but by his example helps others by showing them the way to cooperate and to bring about the correct solution of their problems. He therefore is reflecting the truth expressed in the statement made by Mrs. Eddy on page 340 of the textbook, "One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, 'Love thy neighbor as thyself;' annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry,—whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed."
