Christian Scientists know that mental depression arises from wrong thinking, and that the remedy is right thinking. The so-called human mind believes in many states and stages of consciousness, which arise from the belief in the reality of both good and evil. Christian Science heals depression through revealing the fact that God is infinite good, and has never created evil; that evil is a suppositional negation, a belief in the absence of God, good. Mrs. Eddy says on page 8 of "Unity of Good": "Everything is as real as you make it, and no more so. What you see, hear, feel, is a mode of consciousness, and can have no other reality than the sense you entertain of it." The realization of the fact of God's allness destroys the belief in depression, and replaces it with the permanent consciousness of the eternal reality of infinite good.
