Salem, Ore. (First Church).—The lot at the northeast corner of Chemeketa and Liberty Streets has recently been cleared preparatory to erecting an edifice to house First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Salem. The church body was organized in 1899. On November 29, 1905, both churches in Salem laid down their charters and reorganized as First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Salem, Oregon. The new edifice will be of stucco exterior, and will seat over five hundred people with ease.—The Oregon Statesman.
