I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the healing I received in Christian Science. I fell and broke my kneecap. Not only did I break it, but I threw the knee out of joint. A Christian Science practitioner was called immediately. A member of my family who was not interested in Christian Science became alarmed and wished to have a doctor diagnose the case. The doctor examined the knee and said the parts of the bone had separated so much that it would be necessary to wire them together to make them knit. I told him then that he was simply called to diagnose the case, and that I was having Christian Science treatment. After bandaging my knee, he was dismissed; but he told me the bandage should remain on at least six weeks. In less than three weeks I removed the bandage and splint; and in six weeks I walked and was doing my housework, going up and down stairs, and taking care of my twenty months old baby. There was a stiffness of the knee for a while; but when fear and false pride were destroyed, the healing was complete.

I am grateful for this healing, and for the loving help extended by the practitioner and others; and I shall never forget the peace I experienced while going through this seeming trial. There was apparently no sense of time, as I occupied myself in reading all of our Leader's writings. To God belongs the glory for this deliverance. To Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, my gratitude is only natural; for it is through her teachings that I have learned to turn to God in times of trouble. My gratitude is unbounded for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church, and for the work in the Sunday school of a branch church.
