A wise judge once said, "There is no wiser nor more beneficial provision in the Constitution of the United States, nor that of the several states, than that one which guarantees every citizen the right to worship God according to the dictates of his own conscience." Christian Science is in no way connected with new-thought, Russellism, or any other ism. It is just what its name implies, scientific Christianity. Christian Scientists most positively do believe in the divinity of the Christ. Just what Christian Scientists believe and what Christian Science teaches regarding the divinity of Christ is clearly and fully stated in Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures;" and we respectfully direct your readers to this book if they wish to be correctly informed on this or any other subject relative to the teachings of Christian Science.

The critic says that Christian Science does not make proper use of the Bible; yet he fails to offer proof that his own interpretation of the Scriptures is the correct one. Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was instantaneously healed of invalidism through her understanding of the spiritual meaning of the teachings of Christ Jesus as recorded in the New Testament. She afterwards wrote her wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the mere reading of which has healed and regenerated thousands of people. The writer gratefully offers his own proof of the statement just made, for through the reading of Science and Health he was healed of the desire for tobacco and intoxicating drink, and of ugly traits of character. Is Christian Science to be stoned for such work?
