Christian Scientists rejoice with those of other denominations...

Morning News

Christian Scientists rejoice with those of other denominations who realize that spiritual healing is a component part of Christianity's mission. However, it may be well for those who have charge of the healing work in so-called orthodox churches to inform themselves correctly what Christian Science teaches, before intimating that Christian Science healing is not Christian healing.

Mary Baker Eddy in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," teaches very plainly, and in the true sense, that God is Person. On page 116 we read, "If the term personality, as applied to God, means infinite personality, then God is infinite Person,—in the sense of infinite personality, but not in the lower sense." God is not a finite principle, but infinite Principle; the controlling authority and creator of all. He is Life, Truth, and Love, as the Bible teaches.

Instead of the incarnation being denied by Christian Science, it is distinctly upheld and clarified by its teachings. To quote from another of Mrs. Eddy's books, "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 303): "I believe in but one incarnation, one Mother Mary. I know that I am not that one, and I have never claimed to be."
