Christian Science came to my notice in the early part of 1918. At that time I was suffering much disability as the result of a serious illness, which I had contracted during military service in England in 1916. I was receiving a pension from the military authorities, and from time to time had to attend medical boards to undergo physical examination. As time went on, my pension allowance increased, this being an indication that my health was not improving. However, after a time, I felt much better. Shortly before the date arranged for my marriage I received a notice from the pension office instructing me to report immediately at the local military hospital to undergo medical treatment, this call being the result arrived at by a medical board held some weeks previous.

I am most grateful to say that at that time Christian Science was coming into my experience, and although the notice referred to caused me to fear greatly for the future, I thereupon applied to a Christian Science practitioner for help, leaving my case with God. I am grateful that through this help I was quickly healed; and I felt so convinced of the unreality of disease as a result of the healing, that, later, I wrote to the pension authorities saying that I should have no further need of the pension allotted to me; for I realized that as long as I accepted the pension I was admitting the reality of disease.

I have experienced no further trouble from that disability; and in addition, many lesser ills have been overcome by the same divine Principle, which is omnipotent to destroy all evil. Christian Science is "first aid" in our home, in business, and in every phase of our life. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other works by Mary Baker Eddy are sources of limitless help; and I am grateful for all the privileges and blessings that these teachings have brought into my life.
