[Original testimony in German]
I have been an adherent of Christian Science for the past...
I have been an adherent of Christian Science for the past fifteen years. At the time I became acquainted with it, I was suffering from a tenacious nervous stomach trouble. I had been treated by both homeopathic physicians and nature cure healers, but without result.
Then I heard of Christian Science. I went to a practitioner, and in a very short time was healed of the trouble. I was entirely free until about two years ago, when it seemed to reappear. At first I tried to overcome it myself; but not being successful, I again requested Christian Science help. After four visits to the practitioner the trouble was overcome; and after being instructed in Christian Science, I learned to understand that relapse is a mental condition. When I obey the admonition of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, given us in our Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 392), "Stand porter at the door of thought," I am able to protect myself against further manifestations of sickness.
Christian Science has also brought many blessings to my family. In the year 1914 our then twelve-year-old son, who was spending his vacation in the country, was stricken with an illness which was very severe. According to the doctor's diagnosis the boy should have been sent to a hospital for an operation as soon as possible. Upon receipt of this information by telephone, I immediately asked a Christian Science practitioner to help him. I was able to perceive a visible improvement very soon afterwards. In four days the boy was able to leave his bed, and the following day to go out. He has always been well since that time.
