When Christian Science found me a broken-hearted...
When Christian Science found me a broken-hearted wreck, doctors had given me but a short time to live, even under the best of care. Through Christian Science help I was restored to health, being healed of a severe spinal trouble. Only those who have been through such an experience can know my gratitude. Catarrh in its worst form was also healed, and glasses were laid off after one treatment in Christian Science. Self-pity, temper, sensitiveness, self-condemnation, vainglory, and many other discords have been uncovered and destroyed.
One great thing for which I am most happy and grateful is that I have learned to mind my own business and let others do the same. If I cannot think good of our Father's little ones, I cannot afford to talk or even think wrongly about them. Christian Science heals the tendency to evil thinking and speaking.
I am most grateful for membership in The Mother Church; also for class instruction by a loyal teacher taught by our beloved Leader; and for membership in a branch church. It is an education, yes, a rich blessing, to have the Christian Science literature; the Lesson-Sermons, bearing healing in their wings; the inspiring hymns, some of them written by the Leader of Christian Science; and last, but not least, the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which reveals and unfolds the new heaven and the new earth. All Mrs. Eddy's writings help me to understand God as a loving, living Father, the loving, living Truth, Life, and Love. It is a rich privilege to give a cup of cold water and crumbs of comfort to others struggling under seeming sorrow, sin, and disease. Christian Science does heal every ill.—(Mrs.) Luise Wilhelmine O'Connor, Caspar, Wyoming.
