Christian Science is not derived from psychology, nor does it teach suggestion, the power of mind over matter, nor advocate the transmitting of vibrations (influence) from one individual to another. All these methods of the carnal mind are in no way akin to the teachings of Christian Science, but are entirely contrary thereto. Christian Scientists are endeavoring to practice the healing works of Christianity solely on the basis of the teachings and works of the Way shower, Christ Jesus. It was in 1866, when, obeying the command of the Master, Mary Baker Eddy discovered in the gospels the truth Jesus promised should be found, namely, the truth he taught and which he and his followers practiced in the healing of sin and disease, and which is ever available and can be applied by all mankind in every age. She saw that the mission of Christ Jesus was to reveal the knowledge of the Son of God to humanity, and that, in his immortal words, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," thus bringing to human apprehension the remedy for every ill. To-day, as then, the revelation of the truth, that is, of the knowledge of the Son of God, is bringing the inevitable results. The sick are being healed, the sinning reformed; and prayer is once more attaining the fulfillment of that irresistible promise of Christ, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
