The Lectures

Cristobal, Canal Zone, Panama (Society).—Introducing Clarence W. Chadwick, a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience, Commander R. F. Wood spoke as follows:—

Christianity has rightly been said to be, not a religion, but religion itself. Christians in general accept certain writings of the early Hebrew leaders and prophets, together with interpretations and other teachings of Christ Jesus. Jesus came to clarify men's confused thoughts in regard to God and His universe. To those willing to search his teachings it will become apparent that they are based on fundamental and immutable laws. Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has cleared away the false concepts that have followed the age-long discussions over theological dogma, and has shown the beautiful simplicity which is characteristic of real Christianity. Her writings will lead the earnest student to see that God's rule is fundamentally orderly and that the same Principle is applicable to-day as well as in some distant future, here as well as elsewhere.
