Of all the many blessings which my family and I have received through Christian Science, I wish to relate one in particular, which left a deep impression upon us.

At the end of February, 1922, my thirteen-year-old boy complained of pain in his right knee. I tried to help by talking to him. He then stopped complaining, but began to limp. One morning he declared he could not walk. The knee was greatly swollen. After two days the swelling also appeared in the ankle joint. We remained calm, knowing that evil has no power, and relied on the allpower of God, good. We thought the difficulty had been overcome, but the same symptoms appeared on the other leg. The boy seemed to suffer greatly; but he bravely fought against this trouble and seldom complained. When fear tried to overwhelm me, I always found comfort in the thought that the confidence which we place in God will not be unrewarded. I often read to him from our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; and he also faithfully studied the Christian Science periodicals. Nevertheless, every joint became swollen, one after the other.

One evening, when I returned from a testimony meeting and told the boy of the testimonies of healing which I had heard, he requested me to ask for help from a Christian Science practitioner, saying that he would then be healed right away. When on the following morning I went to see a practitioner in this city, the boy was unable to move either his hands or his legs. The practitioner lovingly said she would at once start treatment for him and call that afternoon. The boy groaned with pain; and then he said to me, "Error knows that it has not much time left; that's why it torments me so; but soon I shall be all right." The practitioner came soon afterwards; and in about two minutes the child exclaimed that he had no more pain. She lovingly explained to him man's unity with the Father, and requested him to praise God. The boy did so, and was healed "in the selfsame hour." He got up right away; and in two days went to school again, after having been away eight days. The clear understanding of Truth on the part of the practitioner, and the great faith of the child, had made this beautiful healing possible.
