About thirteen years ago I first took up the study of Christian Science. I was not looking for physical healing then. Perhaps I can express it in no better way than to say I was hungering and thirsting after righteousness. The fourth beatitude says, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." On page 222 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read, "Truth regenerates this fleshly mind and feeds thought with the bread of Life." I am indeed being fed with this "bread of Life," and it is meeting my every need.

Although we did not turn to Christian Science for healing, we have experienced in our family the overcoming of many physical ailments through applying the truth about God and man, as taught in Science and Health. When about one year old, our son had pneumonia, after which he seemed to be very susceptible to cold on the lungs. At three years of age he fell from his express cart and sustained a hernia. He was a very delicate looking child, and it was often remarked that he would not grow to manhood. Soon after I took up Christian Science, he was again ill with pneumonia. Christian Science treatment was given, and he recovered in a very short time; and when we ceased to hold fear over the child, the colds did not appear. A little later, work was taken up by a practitioner that he might be healed of the hernia. After a few months this trouble also disappeared. To-day, at seventeen, it would be hard to find a healthier or more robust young man.

Among other healings I would mention the overcoming of blood poisoning, heart trouble, jaundice, mumps, grippe. For all these healings, and for the peace and spiritual joy which have come into my life through the study of Christian Science, I feel very grateful.
