I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science. About four years ago, I manifested all the symptoms of influenza. Realizing my need of a greater sense of love, I studied Christian Science literature that evening until eleven o'clock, without any apparent benefit. I then turned to the definition of "Gethsemane" in the Glossary of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 586) by Mary Baker Eddy, which reads, "Patient woe; the human yielding to the divine; love meeting no response, but still remaining love." Jesus never changed his love for God, regardless of his many trials; and, therefore, I could not change mine, for I knew Christian Science was the truth, and that it had met and would meet my every need. I then fell asleep. On awaking the next morning I felt almost normal; but I was up only a short time when I found I was unable to stand. Christian Science help was asked for; and in five minutes I was able to dress and go to the office, taking dictation all the morning. In a few days all the manifestations were entirely gone.

I had been previously healed of what would be termed tuberculosis of the spine. Two of our family had passed on with this disease. I told no one of this condition, for I knew the fears that other people would voice would only increase my problem. I had a Christian Science friend with whom I spent a great deal of time. One day she asked me if I had been to church the Sunday before; and I said, No. She said, "Do not neglect going to church." That rebuke was enough. I realized that a child went to school to learn; therefore, if I wanted to learn about God, I should go to church; and I have missed very few services since then. The foregoing problem was met through the changed concepts I gained of God and man by attending the church services.

Each Christian Scientist is continually grateful for our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy; for her untiring efforts to give us this wonderful truth, which is making the Bible understood and loved by all; also for the Board of Lectureship, which makes it possible for all mankind to hear the truth explained in a clear and concise manner; and for all the many other channels.
