Christian Science came into our home thirty-two years ago through the healing of my mother, who had been a great sufferer for a number of years with what several physicians had pronounced dropsy of the heart. She had also had a stroke of paralysis, from which she had never entirely recovered. As the kind physicians to whom she had gone for healing gave her very little hope, she had become very much discouraged over her condition; but, thanks to God, she was lovingly led by a friend to try Christian Science, and in one treatment was entirely healed of these ailments. She has not had any return of them, but has been active and useful, and has enjoyed excellent health, ever since.

I am often reminded that I should never cease to be grateful that Christian Science came into my life when a small child. Gradually, but surely, I am being healed of many things, not only physically, but mentally and morally. Each year I find that many of the things that cause suffering and unhappiness—such as ingratitude, selfishness, fear, and so on—are yielding to the power of Truth, as taught in Christian Science, and more gratitude, unselfishness, and love are coming into my consciousness, which naturally results in better health and more true happiness.

About eight years ago I was healed of hay fever, which had been very troublesome for several years. Other ailments, such as severe colds and neuralgia in a severe form, have been instantly healed by the power of God, as taught in Christian Science. A short time ago, I received quite a severe injury to the ball of my eye by running against a clothes hook; but the great Physician was at hand. By immediately turning my thoughts to God for help, I was soon freed from the severe pain and was able to use the eye and see as well as before; and by the next morning there was not any soreness or discoloration.
