[Written for the Sentinel]

Alone with God

FEAR not, faint heart, break loose thy chain,
If in the night of sin and pain
Thou roamest still with vision dim;
There is no truth apart from Him.

Turn thou to ever conscious good;
Plant firm thy feet where Jesus stood;
With Truth and Love thy staff and rod,
Commune thou there, alone with God.
