Thousands of dollars had been spent on materia medica, osteopathy, chiropractic, and surgery to regain my health; but I grew worse until I began to contemplate suicide as the only escape from future suffering. Such was the state of despair wherein Christian Science found me. For fifteen years in school I was hardly able to learn. I can truthfully testify that I have gained more understanding since studying Christian Science than in all the years before. I know that not only does Christian Science heal the sick, but likewise it makes the dumb to speak and is the "Spirit of truth" which Christ Jesus said he would send unto us. I am very grateful to Mary Baker Eddy for her unselfish toil, which makes it possible for us to understand God, good, as we never could before; and how good it is to know that God never made evil!

I had known only poor health from babyhood. With the help of a practitioner I experienced an instantaneous healing of constipation of seventeen years' standing. I am also grateful for having been able to demonstrate over pain in my teeth. Stomach trouble, heart trouble, anemia, and various other ailments which the efforts of fifteen doctors failed to cure, have disappeared since I turned to Christian Science. My false idol, medicine, has been cast down; and the truth, as revealed in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, together with the Bible, is my only physician. The physical healings are wonderful to me; yet still grander is the fact that God, good, is always pouring more good upon us than we know how to accept, "and of his kingdom there shall be no end."

It is my humble desire that this testimony may help some one who is struggling with difficulties. I wish to express my gratitude for the Christian Science Sentinel, as this periodical has proved invaluable to me. There are not words enough for me to tell of the blessings, emanating from the changeless heart of Love, I have received. I hope to be able to demonstrate more of Christian Science, with more love for my fellow-men.
