I am thankful for the opportunity of expressing my gratitude...

I am thankful for the opportunity of expressing my gratitude for Christian Science. When, about six years ago, I began studying Christian Science, I did not know what health was. From earliest childhood I had been weak and sickly; and a series of illness had reduced me to a state of hopeless and suffering. When the light came to me through Christian Science, I at once felt that I had found that explanation of Life for which I had always been longing, the truth which Jesus had taught, and the way out of the darkness of materialism.

As my understanding increased, ignorance and fear were replaced by right thinking, love, and happiness, and one illness after another disappeared. I have been healed of indigestion, nervousness, sleeplessness, rheumatism, constant weariness, headaches, chronic inflammation of the ears and throat, abscesses in the cheeks, influenza, and inflammation of the appendix; and I have had many instantaneous healings.

One day, while attending a Christian Science service, the first year I studied Science, I was healed of a disease of the eyes of some years' standing, which had compelled me to wear glasses when reading and working, and which the doctor had pronounced incurable. I have never used glasses since that moment; and my sight is perfect. I am grateful for this healing, especially as through it I learned that physical healing is a result of spiritual enlightenment.

I am deeply grateful for these physical healings, but much more so that through Christian Science I have learned to understand and love God, and have been able day by day to prove my heavenly Father's love, protection, and care. I have learned that I am God's spiritual child, free, and dependent on Him alone for my existence, supply, and happiness; also I have learned to be more obedient, courageous, watchful, helpful, and loving. I am feeling every day deeper gratitude for Christian Science; deeper gratitude to Christ Jesus, and to Mrs. Eddy, who revealed the truth again. I am grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and in our branch church here; for all the activities of The Mother Church; and for loving help from practitioners.

Most grateful am I to know that Christian Science is for the redemption of all mankind, and is every moment doing its healing, purifying work all over the world.
