Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 1): "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love;" and these signs are what Christian Science can show forth: the sick are healed, the sorrowing comforted, and the sinners reformed. Such signs can never be imitated by witchcraft: "A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. ... Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Jesus gave his followers as definite a command to heal the sick as to preach the gospel. It is well known that many clergymen are discussing how healing again may be established as an element of the work of the Christian Church, since it is admitted a deficiency that the healing work has been omitted from the churches during the last centuries.

As to the atonement, it is difficult to believe that men are saved by the "blood of Christ" if they consciously continue in sin without making any effort to be converted and become worthy to be called followers of Christ. Sin must involve suffering and punishment. According to the words of Paul: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."
