In writing this testimony the difficulty is to know just where to begin, for since Christian Science came into our lives, blessings from God have poured in so freely.

The path to tread in Science has at times seemed difficult and rugged, but through many afflictions I have learned to some extent the lesson so much needed,—that to do the will of God is all. As a child I was possessed of much fear and nervousness, which were hidden as much as possible under a cloak of pride and reserve. When, after years of suffering (partly due to a fall from a dog cart when out driving), Christian Science was offered by one who had received much benefit from it, he told us the help had come through the reading of a book called "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and offered to write for the loan of one for me. I received the book; and in reading it, forgot I needed healing. I just read on, held by the truth it expressed; and it brought comfort and much healing. I had been feeling in despair just before the book came to me, for the trouble of extended hips and displacement of bones in the spine was causing much pain. Much of my life had been spent under doctors' care and in weary days lying on a couch, the pain caused by getting up sometimes making me cry out.

After studying Christian Science for two or three years, I had the great uplift that class instruction gives. With the clearer understanding I obtained, a bone slipped into place. My greatest gratitude for release from those dark days lies in the fact that they have vanished as a dream in the night; and it seems impossible to think they had anything to do with me; for, truly, the words on page 495 of Science and Health, "Let Christian Science, instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony," have been to a great extent realized. Very many healings have taken place in our home as divine Principle has been allowed to govern; and our four boys are all healthy and strong, and are kept so by the power of God.
