[Written for the Sentinel]

"Be still, and know"

"Be still, and know"
That God is God.
In heaven, and earth, and sea,
The everlasting arms of Love
Enfold both you and me.

"Be still, and know"
That God is true,
And error but the lie
That tries to make us fear, or doubt
That Love is always nigh.

"Be still, and know"
That Truth and Love
More potent are than fear;
That error cannot argue long,
If Love's sweet voice we hear.

Then Truth and Love
And peace and Life
Come here to us below;
Help us to rise above the strife,—
"Be still, and know."
