One of the many proofs of the power of Truth to heal and prevent disease stands out in my memory, never ceasing to be an inspiration, and prompts me to write this testimony with the hope that it will be helpful to others.

From childhood I had been subject to frequent attacks of tonsillitis during the winter, as regularly as that season of the year came around, often causing me to be confined to my bed many days, if not weeks at a time. When I first turned to Christian Science and sought the aid of a practitioner for freedom from another form of suffering of a more serious nature, I did not mention or ask for treatment for tonsillitis; but from that time until the present, now more than sixteen years, there has been but one slight return of that trouble. About ten years ago, while passing through a trying experience, some of the old symptoms began to appear, but with the help of a practitioner they were completely destroyed in a few hours; and I have been perfectly free from that phase of discord ever since.

I am indeed grateful for Christian Science, and most appreciative of Mrs. Eddy's obedience and devotion to God, which resulted in her giving to the world "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the textbook of Christian Science, the understanding of which has enabled thousands to experience the freedom promised by Jesus, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
