Among the Churches
Middletown, Ohio.—In this city there is a very strong Christian Science organization that is growing rapidly in numbers and influence. Impartial study of Christian Science invariably favors it and makes it stronger. Any prejudice against it seems to have its origin in ignorance of what it teaches. Christian Science is surmounting difficulties and is fast coming to the front. ... Let the light shine, that the clouds of prejudice may be removed, and the truth be known for the benefit of all mankind.—
Rhode Island.—The past year has witnessed a legitimate outgrowth of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Providence; and it is pleasing to record the incorporation, and recognition by the Board of Directors of The Mother Church, of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Providence, Rhode Island. The initial service was held the first Sunday in May, and the organization is filling a much felt need in the west side of the city. With the loving cooperation of all Christian Scientists in Providence, who will consider it a privilege to contribute, it is not unreasonable to expect that the erection of a church edifice, suitable to the needs of this earnest band of workers, will soon be under way. The church at Newport and the church at Woonsocket are active, loyal branches of The Mother Church. They are holding aloft the standard of Christ in their respective localities, and much fruit is being manifested.—
