It is with sincere gratitude that I wish to add my testimony to the healing power of Christian Science to that of many others. After many years of suffering from a very serious blood pressure in the head, and seeking the help of about every physician recommended to me (twenty-five in the city and several out of it), I received no help but rather grew worse. I had two serious operations and several minor ones. I gave long trials to many kinds of treatment, such as osteopathic, electrical, and magnetic, besides using leeches and having my head packed in ice. These likewise failed me, as had everything else. At this time (1909) I was feeling so miserable I did not care to see any one, and felt that if I did not get help I would soon lose my reason.

I was somehow led to enter the Christian Science church of Albany, and attended a Wednesday evening service. I was not very much impressed by what I heard; but after the service I met there a friend and his wife, who, noticing how low-spirited and sad I seemed, invited me to visit her and said she would tell me about Christian Science. I went to her home very reluctantly, without any hope whatever that this religion would help me. I had a talk with her, and on account of her sincerity I asked her to treat me, which she consented to do. My healing was very gradual; but in 1910 I realized I was a changed person.

I can truly say that since turning to Christian Science I am happier and have better health than I ever had before. I became discouraged many times, but with the practitioner's faithful work and loving encouragement I pressed on. My healing was slow, because at first I desired the loaves and fishes only; but when I really wanted to know more of the truth my healing came. Christian Science also healed me of a great sense of sadness when a very dear one passed on in 1911. Words are insufficient to express my gratitude for Christian Science. My desire is to put into practice what I know of this healing truth.
