day a Christian Scientist heard a younger student say, "I am not free from the problem as yet, but I will plod on.

is sometimes said that the hardest thing a person is ever called upon to do is to wait.
Ever
since the time when Jesus drove the moneychangers out of the temple, there has been great need to purify thought of all vain traffic, in order to make room for the true worshipers, who worship "in spirit and in truth.
The
attitude of the average citizen everywhere toward those of other lands could scarcely be better put than in the words of Bunyan when describing Vanity Fair in "Pilgrim's Progress.
People are drawn to Christian Science from every walk of life because in it they find the teachings of our Master made practical in the healing of the sick through spiritual means, as well as commands regarding the preaching of the gospel.
We wish to correct the misstatements of a critic which appeared in your issue of a recent date, lest others be misled.
Emerson was right when he said, "When a thinker is turned loose on the earth, thrones totter.
Great reformers may be misunderstood, misrepresented, and abused for a time, but their work lives on.
In reply to a sermon reported in your columns, let me say that Christian Science does teach that death, sin, and sorrow are unrealities.
In dealing with her subject, "The New Psychology and Healing," the lecturer, whose lecture was reported in a recent issue of your paper, shows that she has not grasped the fundamental Principle of Christian Science, which has nothing in common with the Yoga systems of India, nor with any system based on an acceptance of the theory that good and evil influences can emanate from the same source.

No fact becomes more certain to the student of Christian Science than the futility of so-called speculative theories, as agencies for healing humanity of its ills, individual and collective alike.
Every
Christian Scientist who is really in earnest, if asked to formulate his greatest desire, might easily answer: To advance in the demonstration of the Science of being.
It is about nine years since I attended my first Christian Science service; and I have great cause to rejoice that I was led to take a step which is continually bringing into my life innumerable blessings.
During the years that I have been interested in Christian Science there have been many proofs of God's loving care and protection.
I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science.
I welcome the opportunity to mention a few of the many instances in which I and members of my family have been healed of disease by Christian Science treatment.
After I had been ill for a long time and under the care of many physicians, and had tried practically everything else with no change except to grow rapidly worse, I simply kept my life insurance paid and felt I would be glad to die, because I could not sleep or eat and the pain was so terrible.
Several years ago, while working for a large hotel corporation, I was taken suddenly and desperately ill at the very height of a busy summer season.
It is with a deep sense of gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me that I send this testimony of healing.
It is with sincere gratitude that I wish to add my testimony to the healing power of Christian Science to that of many others.
It has been my privilege since childhood to have Christian Science as an ever present help.
It has been a number of years since I relied upon any other means for healing than the understanding of God, as revealed through Christian Science; and I have had numerous proofs of God's power to heal and care for us in our daily affairs.
