In reply to a sermon reported in your columns, let me say that Christian Science does teach that death, sin, and sorrow are unrealities. Mere denial of the truth of this teaching is futile. There is in existence to-day an accumulation of facts, readily accessible for investigation, which shows that Christian Science is proving the truth of its teachings. A large proportion of the membership of Christian Science churches is made up of men and women who were given up to die after having tried in vain every other known system of healing. Death, sin, and sorrow seemed very real to these individuals until Christian Science, bringing the joyful truths of the gospel to their understanding, healed them.

Jesus, our great Master, knew all there was to be known about the beliefs of death, sin, and sorrow. He did not waste any time telling how much he had seen of these evils, but proceeded to destroy them, and taught his disciples to do likewise. Christian Scientists are followers of Jesus the Christ; and in the measure of their faithfulness to his teachings they are finding it possible to do the works which he did. This is clearly the fulfillment of the promise given in John: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
